Setting the Idle Timeout
The idle timeout works together with your screen saver and branding overlay. It controls how many seconds after the last guest interaction before the booth returns to the screen saver. See Screen Saver Types and Event Branding Overlay for the related features.
The idle timeout controls when the event branding overlay appears after a period of inactivity. It determines how long the booth waits before showing the branding overlay on screen.
What Is the Idle Timeout?
After a guest finishes their session and walks away, the booth waits for a set number of seconds before displaying the event branding overlay. This is separate from the screen saver itself — the branding overlay is an additional layer that appears on top of the screen saver after the configured idle period.
- Default: 15 seconds
How to Adjust
- Go to Settings
- Find the Event Branding section
- Adjust the Idle Timeout value (in seconds)
- Save

Recommended Settings
Event Type | Idle Timeout |
|---|---|
Busy event (back-to-back guests) | 20–30 seconds |
Moderate traffic | 15 seconds |
Low traffic | 10 seconds |
Unattended booth | 10 seconds |
Why It Matters
- Too short — The branding overlay will flash on between every guest, which looks glitchy
- Too long — The booth sits on the share screen after a guest leaves, looking unattended
- Just right — A smooth transition that keeps the booth looking active and professional
