Screen Saver Types (Default, Media, Mirror)

When no one's using the booth, the screen saver keeps things looking alive (pun intended). ALIVE offers three screen saver modes to match your setup.

Available Types

Default Mode

The standard idle screen that displays when the booth is not in use. This is the default screen saver that works out of the box with no additional setup.

Best for:

  • General events where no custom branding is needed
  • A clean, professional look between sessions
  • Quick setup with no extra configuration

Media Mode

Displays a custom image or video that you upload. This could be a client's logo, an event graphic, a promotional video, or anything you want.

Best for:

  • Branded events
  • Displaying sponsor logos
  • Running a custom attract loop
  • Events where the client provides specific screen content

Mirror Mode

Shows a live camera feed — like a mirror. Guests can see themselves before stepping up to take a photo.

Best for:

  • Attracting attention (people can't resist looking at themselves)
  • Hair and makeup check stations
  • Fun, interactive idle screens

How to Set Your Screen Saver

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Find the Screen Saver section
  3. Choose your type: Default, Media, or Mirror
  4. If using Media mode, upload your image or video
  5. Save

Tips

  • Default mode is the safe choice — It works great without any extra setup
  • Media mode is impressive for clients — Upload their logo or event graphic for a professional touch
  • Mirror mode is an attention magnet — People walking by will stop and look at themselves. That's your opening to get them in the booth.

You can change the screen saver type between events. Use Default for casual events, Media for branded corporate gigs, and Mirror when you want maximum foot traffic.

How These Features Relate

The screen saver, idle timeout, and branding overlay work together to control what the booth displays when no guest is actively using it:

  • The screen saver is what appears on the attraction screen when the booth is idle (no active guest). You configure its type here (Default, Media, or Mirror).
  • The idle timeout controls how many seconds after a guest leaves before the screen saver kicks in. See Setting the Idle Timeout.
  • The branding overlay is a logo or image that appears on top of the screen saver for branding purposes. See Event Branding Overlay.
