Tracking Responses
Once clients start filling out questionnaires attached to your proposals, you need an easy way to see their answers. ALIVE gives you a dedicated responses view for each proposal so you can quickly review everything your client submitted.
Viewing Responses
- Open any proposal from the Proposals dashboard
- Navigate to the Responses tab in the proposal builder
- You'll see all submitted questionnaire responses for that proposal
Each response shows:
- Respondent name — Who filled it out
- Respondent email — Their email address
- Trigger — When in the flow the questionnaire was presented (Before Signing, After Signing, Before Payment, or After Payment)
- Completion date and time — Exactly when they submitted
- All answers — Organized by question
Understanding Response Triggers
Responses are tagged with the trigger that prompted the questionnaire:
- Before Signing — Responses collected as a prerequisite to signing
- After Signing — Responses collected right after the client signed
- Before Payment — Responses collected before the payment step
- After Payment — Responses collected after payment was completed
This helps you understand the context of each response and when the client provided the information.
Checking Completion Status
The system can check whether a client has completed a questionnaire for a specific trigger. This is especially useful for required questionnaires — the proposal flow won't let the client proceed until they've submitted their answers.
Responses in PDF Exports
When you export a proposal as a PDF, all questionnaire responses are included automatically. Each response shows:
- The questionnaire title
- The respondent's name
- The trigger point
- Every question and answer pair
This means your PDF becomes a complete record of the proposal, signature, and all gathered information — perfect for your files.
File Upload Responses
If your questionnaire includes file upload questions, the uploaded files are stored securely and accessible from the responses view. Clients can upload images, documents, and other files that you can download and review.
