Guest Experience — Using the AR App
Here's exactly what your guests see and do when they use the ALIVE Guest App to experience the AR magic on their own phone.
Step-by-Step Guest Flow
1. Download the App
Guests download the ALIVE app for free from:
- App Store (iOS)
- Google Play (Android)
No account creation needed. No sign-up. Just download and open.
2. Open the App
When the app opens, it shows the phone's camera feed. That's it — the guest is already in the right place. There's no login screen, no tutorial to dismiss, no setup.
3. Point at a Printed Photo
The guest holds their phone over any ALIVE photo — a print from the booth, a photo strip, a magnet, anything with an ALIVE-captured image on it.
The app automatically:
- Recognizes the photo
- Finds the matching animated video
- Starts playing the AR video on top of the print

4. Watch It Come to Life
The animated video appears right on the physical photo in real time. As the guest moves their phone, the animation stays locked to the print. It looks like the photo is literally moving.
5. Record or Download
Once the AR effect is active, guests can:
- Record — Tap the record button to capture a screen recording of the AR experience (including the animated video and their surroundings). Tap anywhere to stop recording. The video is saved to their phone and can be shared directly.
- Download — Tap the download button to save both the original photo and the animated video file to their phone gallery.

What Guests Should Know

- Good lighting matters — Brighter environments = faster and more stable recognition
- Internet is required — The app needs a connection to identify photos and stream the AR video
- Works anywhere, anytime — Guests can use the app at the event, at home, or weeks later — as long as they have the print and the app
Audio During Recording
When guests record the AR experience, the app can capture audio from the phone's microphone. This picks up ambient sounds — music, laughter, conversations — which adds atmosphere to the recording.

"Do I need to create an account?"
No. The app works immediately after download.
"Does it cost anything?"
