Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions about ALIVE Photobooth.
General
Can I use ALIVE on Android?
Not yet — ALIVE is currently iOS only. It works on any iOS device (iPad, iPhone) running iOS 14.5 or later. Android support is on the roadmap.
Can I use ALIVE on iPhone?
Yes! ALIVE works on any iOS device, including iPhones. That said, we recommend iPad Pro for the best photobooth experience — the larger screen and better camera make a real difference. See Recommended Devices.
Is there a free trial?
Yes! ALIVE offers a free trial so you can explore the app before committing. Download from the App Store to get started.
Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
Absolutely. You can cancel anytime from the web dashboard at photobooth.alive-pic.com/dashboard. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period. No contracts, no drama.
Plans and Pricing
What's the difference between Basic and Pro plans?
Both plans include photo capture, templates, printing, sharing, and the ALIVE Effect (AR video). Basic includes a limited selection of AI effects. Pro unlocks the full 200+ AI effects library, custom AI prompts, AI effects discount, white labeling, and priority support. See Understanding Basic vs Pro Plans.
How much do AI effects cost?
AI effects use a pay-as-you-go credit system. Each effect costs about $0.15 (15 credits at $0.01 each). Credits never expire. See AI Credits: Pay-As-You-Go Pricing.
Do AI credits expire?
No! Purchased AI credits never expire. Use them whenever you need them.
Features
Can I use ALIVE offline?
Yes! You can run events and print photos offline. Photos save locally but won't sync to the cloud. AI effects require an internet connection. See Offline Mode: What Works Without Internet.
What printers work with ALIVE?
ALIVE works with dye-sublimation printers like DNP DS620/RX1, Mitsubishi D80/D90, and Citizen CX-1/CX-2. See Recommended Printers.
Can guests share photos via AirDrop?
Yes! Native Share is always available on the share screen, which includes AirDrop and any other sharing method built into iOS. See Using Native Share.
How long are gallery photos stored?
Photos and gallery links are available for at least 2 years. After that, they may be removed from cloud storage. We recommend downloading important galleries promptly. See Gallery Link Expiration.
Troubleshooting
The venue Wi-Fi isn't working with ALIVE — what do I do?
Some venue Wi-Fi networks block apps with firewalls or captive portals. The fix: use a mobile hotspot from your phone or bring a portable mobile router. See Wi-Fi and Networking Tips.
How do I lock the iPad so guests can't leave the app?
Use iOS Guided Access to lock the iPad to ALIVE. It's a built-in feature — no extra apps needed. See Guided Access (Kiosk Mode).
Can I run multiple booths at the same event?
Yes! Each device needs its own device seat (license) under your subscription. You can run multiple iPads simultaneously, each with its own event or the same event. See Multi-Device Licensing for details.
What resolution are the photos?
Photos are captured at the full resolution of your iPad's camera. For most iPad Pro models, this is 12MP. The quality is more than sufficient for printing and social media sharing.
Is there a maximum number of guests per event?
No. ALIVE has no guest limit. You can capture as many photos as your iPad's storage allows.
What file format are photos exported in?
Photos are exported as JPEG files. Videos (ALIVE Effect) are exported as MP4.
What internet speed do I need?
For AI effects and cloud sharing, we recommend at least 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload. Faster is better, especially for high-traffic events. Photo capture and printing work without internet.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Go to the web dashboard at photobooth.alive-pic.com/dashboard, navigate to Subscription Management, and click "Manage via Stripe" to cancel. Your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period.
What happens to my photos if I cancel?
Your photos remain in the cloud gallery for the standard 2-year retention period, even after cancellation. You can still access and download them.
