Enabling / Disabling Printing

Printing is a global setting in ALIVE — it applies to your booth overall, not to individual events. You can toggle it on or off before each event as needed. Turn it on when you have a printer connected, off when you don't.

How to Toggle

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Find the Printing section
  3. Toggle Printing Enabled on or off
  4. Save

What Happens When Printing Is Enabled?

  • The Print button appears on the share screen
  • Guests can tap it to print their photos
  • Auto-print kicks in (if configured)
  • ALIVE looks for connected print servers on the network

What Happens When Printing Is Disabled?

  • The Print button is hidden from the share screen
  • No print jobs are sent
  • Guests can still share via QR, SMS, email, or native share

When to Disable Printing

  • No printer at the event — Don't confuse guests with a button that doesn't do anything
  • Digital-only events — When the client only wants digital sharing
  • Printer issues — If your printer is acting up mid-event, disable printing rather than letting guests queue broken jobs

Printing is a global setting, not a per-event saved preference. Each event doesn't have its own print toggle — you adjust the global setting before going live based on whether you have a printer at that event.
