Gallery View Modes (Grid, Slideshow, Showcase)
Your event gallery is more than a folder of photos — it's a guest experience. ALIVE gives you three distinct view modes so you can match the gallery presentation to the vibe of each event.
The Three View Modes
Mode | Best For | Style |
|---|---|---|
Standard Grid | Quick browsing, self-service download | Classic thumbnail gallery |
Slideshow | Big screens, ambient displays, lounges | Full-screen immersive playback |
Netflix Showcase | Wow-factor displays, venue monitors | Diagonal scrolling rows of images |
Standard Grid
The default gallery view. Photos appear as thumbnails in a clean grid layout. Guests can scroll through, tap to view full-size, and download or share.

This is the most familiar format — guests immediately know how to use it. It works great on phones, tablets, and kiosks where guests want to quickly find their photo.
When to use it:
- Self-service sharing stations where guests browse and download their own photos
- Events where speed matters more than ambiance
- Any situation where you want guests to find their specific photo fast
Slideshow
A full-screen, immersive photo viewer that cycles through event photos automatically. Think of it as a digital photo frame on steroids.

Slideshow Features
- Configurable interval — Set how long each photo displays, from 1 to 60 seconds (default is 5 seconds)
- Play/pause controls — Guests or operators can pause on a great shot
- Keyboard navigation — Use arrow keys to skip forward/back, Spacebar to advance to next photo, P key to play/pause
- Auto-hide controls — The UI fades away after 3 seconds of inactivity for a clean look
- Progress bar — A subtle bar shows how far through the slideshow you are
- Fade transitions — Smooth crossfade between photos
- Background blur — The current photo's colors softly fill the background behind the image
Slideshow Controls
Control | Action |
|---|---|
Right arrow | Next photo |
Left arrow | Previous photo |
Spacebar | Advance to next photo |
P | Play / Pause |
Mouse movement | Show controls (auto-hides after 3 seconds) |
Netflix Showcase
The showstopper. Photos are arranged in diagonal scrolling rows that drift across the screen, creating a dynamic, cinematic display. Images are shuffled and loop infinitely — it never stops and never repeats the same pattern.

Showcase Speed Settings
You can configure the scroll speed from 1 to 5 (default is 3):
Speed | Label | Feel |
|---|---|---|
1 | Very Slow | Ambient background display — barely moving |
2 | Gentle Drift | Subtle movement, easy on the eyes |
3 | Relaxed (default) | Comfortable pace, the sweet spot for most events |
4 | Moderate | Noticeable movement, keeps attention |
5 | Noticeable | Active scrolling, energetic feel |
Showcase Details
- Infinite loop — Photos cycle endlessly with no jarring restart
- Shuffled order — Images appear in a randomized arrangement each time
- Vignette overlays — Subtle darkened edges give the display a polished, cinematic look
- Diagonal layout — Rows scroll at angles, creating visual depth and movement

Choosing the Right Mode for Your Event
- Corporate events and conferences — Standard Grid. Attendees want to find their headshot, download it, and move on.
- Weddings and galas — Slideshow. Set up a big screen and let the evening's photos play back as the night goes on.
- Brand activations and showcases — Netflix Showcase. The scrolling display draws attention and keeps people watching.
- Holiday parties — Slideshow or Showcase. Both create a festive, communal viewing experience.
- Trade shows — Netflix Showcase. It catches the eye of passersby and pulls them toward your booth.
