Adding and Positioning Photo Slots

Photo slots are the heart of your template. They define where guest photos appear, how big they are, and what shape they take.

Adding a Slot

  1. In the template editor, tap Add Slot (or the equivalent add element option)
  2. A new photo slot appears on the canvas
  3. Drag it to your desired position
  4. Resize it by dragging the corners

Slot Properties

Each slot has several properties you can configure:

Shape

  • Rectangle — The standard choice. Works for strips, cards, and most layouts.
  • Circle — Great for creative layouts, profile-style photos, or fun designs.

Fit Mode

How the photo fills the slot:

  • Cover — Photo fills the entire slot, cropping edges if needed (most common)
  • Contain — Entire photo is visible, may have empty space
  • Fill — Photo stretches to fill the slot exactly (may distort)

Styling

  • Border / Stroke — Add a colored border around the slot
  • Clip Radius — Round the corners of rectangular slots
  • Dash pattern — Use dashed borders for a creative look

Positioning Slots

  • Drag to move a slot anywhere on the canvas
  • Use snap-to-grid and edge alignment guides for precise positioning
  • Set exact coordinates in the properties panel for pixel-perfect placement

Multiple Slots

Most templates have multiple slots. When arranging them:

  • Even spacing — Keep consistent gaps between slots
  • Alignment — Use the alignment guides to line up edges
  • Variety — Mix sizes for a more dynamic layout (one large hero shot + smaller supporting photos)

Tips

  • Match your event flow — 3 slots means guests take 3 photos. More slots = longer sessions.
  • Leave room for text — Don't fill the entire canvas with slots. Leave space for event info, logos, or decorative elements.
  • Cover is usually best — It ensures the slot is completely filled with no empty space.

The number of slots determines how many photos guests take per session. Plan accordingly — a 4-slot template at a 300-person event means 1,200 photos to process.
