Configuring Print Behavior

ALIVE gives you full control over how and when prints happen — from automatic printing to copy limits to strip modes. Here's everything in one place.

Auto-Print

When enabled, ALIVE automatically sends a print job the moment a guest reaches the share screen — no tap required. The print starts in the background while the guest can still share digitally.

How to Enable

  1. Go to SettingsPrinting
  2. Toggle Auto-Print on
  3. Set the default number of copies (default: 1)
  4. Save

When to Use Auto-Print

Enable it when:

  • Every guest should get a print (e.g., a wedding where all prints are included)
  • You want the fastest possible throughput
  • Running an unattended booth

Disable it when:

  • Printing is optional and should be guest-initiated
  • You want to conserve paper and ink

Auto-print combined with auto-open QR is the ultimate "hands-free" setup. Guest takes photos → print starts automatically → QR appears automatically → guest walks away with both digital and physical copies.

Max Prints per Session

This limits the total number of print jobs allowed per guest session — so one enthusiastic guest can't print 50 copies.

  • Default: 20
  • What it means: Each guest can print up to this many times during their turn at the booth

How to Set

  1. Go to SettingsPrinting
  2. Adjust Max Prints
  3. Save

Copies per Print

Controls how many copies print each time a guest taps Print (or when auto-print triggers).

  • Default: 1

How to Set

  1. Go to SettingsPrinting
  2. Adjust Auto-Print Default Copies
  3. Save

Duplicate Strip Mode

A handy setting for 2x6 strip templates. When enabled, two identical strips are printed side-by-side on a single 4x6 sheet. One cut down the middle gives you two strips.

  • Perfect for: Couples, pairs, or giving guests one to keep and one to give away
  • Saves paper: Two strips on one sheet instead of two separate prints

How to Enable

  1. Go to SettingsPrinting
  2. Toggle Duplicate Strip on
  3. Save

Tips

  • Estimate your paper needs — 200 guests × 1 print each = 200 sheets minimum. Always bring extra.
  • Communicate with clients — Some clients want unlimited prints. Others want to cap it. Set expectations early.
  • Duplicate strips are a crowd pleaser — Guests always want one for themselves and one for a friend.

Running low on paper mid-event? You can adjust Max Prints on the fly in Settings. Lower it to stretch your remaining paper until the event ends.
