Running a photobooth means handling your clients' and their guests' photos, contact info, and more. Here is how ALIVE protects that data — and what you should know as a business owner.



Photo and Video Storage


All photos and videos captured through ALIVE are stored on secure cloud storage with encryption. Media is encrypted at rest and transmitted over HTTPS only — meaning data is encrypted in transit as well.


Your guests' photos are never sent over an unencrypted connection.



Biometric Data


ALIVE does NOT derive or retain biometric face data. While photos obviously contain faces, the platform does not run facial recognition, build face profiles, or store any biometric identifiers. No face templates, no face maps, no biometric databases.


This is an important distinction if you operate in states or countries with biometric privacy laws (like Illinois BIPA or the EU GDPR). ALIVE does not fall into the category of biometric data collectors.



AI Processing


When photos are processed through AI effects, they are temporarily handled server-side. Here is what happens:


  1. The photo is sent to ALIVE's processing servers over an encrypted HTTPS connection
  2. The AI effect is applied
  3. The result is returned to your device and stored
  4. Temporary processing data is not retained after the effect is generated


Photos are encrypted in transit during the entire round trip. They are not stored on processing servers beyond what is needed to complete the operation.



What Data Does ALIVE Collect?


For account holders (that is you, the booth operator), ALIVE collects:


  • Name and email — For your account identity and communications
  • Payment information — Processed securely through Stripe (ALIVE does not store your full card number)
  • Usage data — Event activity, feature usage, and app analytics to improve the product


For guests at your events:


  • Photos and videos — Stored in the event gallery
  • Contact info — Only if guests provide their phone number or email for sharing purposes


Guest contact info is collected only when guests opt in to receive their photos via SMS or email. ALIVE does not collect guest data silently or without their action.



Data Retention


Your data — including photos, events, and account information — is retained for as long as your account is active. ALIVE does not automatically delete your content after a set period.


When you delete your account:


  • All account data is permanently erased
  • All associated photos and event data are permanently removed
  • This action is irreversible


Once your account is deleted, there is no way to recover your data. Make sure to download any photos or event data you want to keep before requesting account deletion.



Children's Privacy


ALIVE is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. The platform does not knowingly collect personal data from minors.


If you operate at family-friendly events where children may be photographed, be aware that:


  • The photos themselves are stored and handled with the same encryption and security as all other media
  • ALIVE does not collect personal information (name, email, phone) from children directly
  • Parental consent and supervision at events are the responsibility of the event organizer



Data Deletion


If you want your data removed from ALIVE, the process is straightforward:


  1. Delete your account through the app or by contacting support
  2. All data — photos, events, account info — is permanently and irreversibly erased


There is no partial deletion option. Account deletion removes everything.
