Mirroring / Flipping the Image

When guests look at themselves on screen, they expect to see a mirror image — raise your right hand, the "you" on screen raises the right hand too. But the actual captured photo might need to be flipped depending on your setup.

What Is Image Mirroring?

The front camera shows a mirrored preview (just like a real mirror). The Mirror Image setting controls whether the final captured photo is saved as mirrored or flipped to its true orientation.

  • Mirror ON — The saved photo looks like what the guest saw on screen (mirrored)
  • Mirror OFF (default) — The saved photo is flipped to true orientation (text on shirts will read correctly)

How to Toggle

  1. Go to SettingsCamera on the iPad
  2. Toggle Mirror Image on or off

You can also configure this remotely via the web dashboardRemote SetupCamera section for each event.

Which Should You Choose?

Setting

Best For

Mirror ON

Selfie-style setups where guests face the front camera

Mirror OFF

Setups using the rear camera, or when text/logos need to read correctly

By default, mirroring is OFF. If you're using the front camera and want the saved photo to match what guests see on screen, turn mirroring ON.

Does It Affect Printing?

Yes — the mirror setting applies to the final output. If you're printing photos with text or logos in the background, make sure mirroring is set correctly so everything reads properly on the print.
