Remote Event Configuration
Set up and configure your events from anywhere using the ALIVE web dashboard — before you even arrive at the venue.
What Is Remote Event Configuration?
Remote event configuration lets you prepare your event settings from the web dashboard at photobooth.alive-pic.com. Instead of configuring everything on the iPad at the venue, you can set up templates, effects, capture settings, sharing options, and more from your computer ahead of time.
When the iPad connects to the event, it pulls down the remote settings and applies them automatically.
What You Can Configure Remotely
The web dashboard gives you control over a wide range of event settings:
- Templates — Select which templates are available for the event
- Effects — Choose which AI effects and capture modes to offer
- Capture Settings — First photo countdown, time between photos, mirror mode, tap-to-start, review after capture, and ALIVE video timing
- Capture Steps — Customize the step-by-step flow guests see during capture. Choose from presets (Classic, Fun, Numbered, Minimal, Attendant, Guide) or create custom steps
- Welcome Steps — Custom welcome screen shown before capture begins

How to Set Up an Event Remotely
- Log in to the ALIVE web dashboard at photobooth.alive-pic.com
- Navigate to Events and select your event (or create a new one)
- Open the Remote Setup tab
- Configure your settings — changes auto-save as you make them
- On event day, open ALIVE on your iPad and select the event — settings sync automatically
Syncing Settings to the Device
When you select an event on the iPad app, it fetches the latest remote settings from the server. This includes:
- All capture and sharing configurations
- Selected templates and effects (downloaded to the device)
- 360 capture settings including soundtrack and overlay files
If you update settings on the web dashboard while the event is running, the iPad will pick up the changes the next time it syncs.
Jumping Directly to a Setting From the Booth
The booth app can deep-link you straight into a specific section of the Remote Setup tab. When you tap a "Configure on web dashboard" action inside ALIVE on the iPad, it opens the dashboard with the correct event and the correct section already scrolled into view — for example, the Capture Steps block, the 360 Capture block, or the Share Options block.
This saves you from hunting through the Remote Setup tab when you just want to change one setting.
Tips
- Prepare the night before — Set up all your event settings from home so you can focus on hardware setup at the venue
- Double-check templates — Make sure your selected templates have the right photo slots and layout for your event
- Test on the iPad — After configuring remotely, do a quick test session on the iPad to verify everything looks right
- Use exit passwords — For unattended booths, always set an exit password remotely so it's ready when you go live
