Adding Images and Backgrounds

A great background or a well-placed logo can take your template from generic to gorgeous. Here's how to add images and backgrounds to your designs.

Setting a Background

Every template has a background. You can set it to:

Solid Color

Pick any color for a clean, simple backdrop. Great for minimalist designs.

Background Image

Upload an image to use as the full background. Perfect for:

  • Floral patterns
  • Textured paper looks
  • Client-provided branded backgrounds
  • Event-themed designs

How to Set the Background

  1. In the template editor, tap on the canvas background area
  2. Choose Color or Image
  3. If image, select from your library or upload a new one
  4. Adjust cropping if needed

Adding Image Elements

Beyond the background, you can place individual images anywhere on the canvas:

  1. Tap Add Image
  2. Select your image file
  3. Position and resize it on the canvas

Common Image Elements

  • Client logos — Place the company or event logo
  • Decorative graphics — Borders, corners, florals, ribbons
  • Your business logo — Subtle branding in a corner
  • Icons — Social media handles, hashtags with icons

Image Properties

Each image element supports:

  • Position and size — Drag and resize freely
  • Rotation — Angle the image for creative layouts
  • Opacity — Make images semi-transparent for overlay effects
  • Z-index — Control which elements appear in front of others
  • Crop/Pan — Crop the image to show only the part you want

Tips

  • Use high-resolution images — At least 300 DPI for anything that will be printed. Low-res graphics look pixelated.
  • PNG for transparency — If your logo has a transparent background, use PNG format
  • Keep file sizes reasonable — Very large images can slow down the editor and printing
  • Balance the design — Don't let background images compete with the guest photos. They should complement, not distract.

Ask your clients for their logo in PNG format with a transparent background. It'll make your life much easier when designing their template.
