Recording and Previewing ALIVE Videos
Here's what actually happens when the ALIVE Effect records, and how guests can preview the result before sharing.
The Recording Process
- Guest finishes taking their photo(s)
- After a brief delay (configurable), the ALIVE Effect activates
- The camera records a short video (2 seconds by default)
- The recording captures the guest in their pose with AR animation applied
- Recording stops automatically
The whole thing is seamless — guests barely need to do anything extra. Just hold your pose for a couple more seconds.
What Guests See During Recording
- A visual indicator shows that the ALIVE Effect is recording
- The camera preview remains on screen
- A timer or progress indicator shows how much time is left

Previewing the Result
On the share screen, guests can preview their ALIVE video before sharing:
- The share screen shows the captured photos in the template
- An ALIVE preview option appears
- Tapping it opens a modal with the animated video
- Guests can watch it, replay it, and then decide to share

Audio
The ALIVE Effect can include audio from the microphone — perfect for capturing laughs, cheers, or the DJ playing in the background.
Tips
- Tell guests to hold their pose — The best ALIVE videos come from guests who hold still after the photo and let the animation do its thing
- Background matters — A clean, well-lit background makes the AR effect look much better
- Sound check — If the event is loud, the audio on the video might pick up a lot of background noise. That's usually fine — it adds to the atmosphere
