Duplicating and Editing Built-in Templates

Love a built-in template but want to make it your own? Duplicate it, customize it, and you've got a personalized template without starting from scratch.

Why Duplicate?

Built-in templates can't be edited directly — they're locked to preserve the originals. But you can duplicate any built-in template to create an editable copy.

This is the fastest way to create a custom template when you like an existing layout but want to:

  • Add your business logo
  • Change the background color or image
  • Adjust text or fonts
  • Modify photo slot positions
  • Add an overlay or texture

How to Duplicate

  1. Go to your Templates section
  2. Find the built-in template you want to use as a base
  3. Tap the Duplicate option
  4. A copy is created in your custom templates
  5. Open the copy in the editor and start customizing

What Gets Copied?

Everything:

  • Photo slot positions and sizes
  • Background settings
  • Text elements
  • All images and graphics
  • Canvas specifications (size, DPI, bleed)

You get an exact copy that you can modify freely without affecting the original.

Customization Ideas

  • Add your logo — Drop your business logo in the corner
  • Swap the background — Replace the default background with a client's brand colors
  • Change fonts — Switch to a font that matches the event style
  • Adjust spacing — Move slots around to fit your preferred layout
  • Add contact details — Include your Instagram, website, or phone number

Tips

  • Name your duplicates clearly — "Classic Strip - My Version" is better than "Copy of Template 3"
  • Keep the original proportions — The built-in templates have well-balanced layouts. Small tweaks usually work better than major redesigns.
  • Build a library — Create a few customized versions of your favorite built-in templates for different event types (weddings, corporate, parties)

Duplicating is non-destructive — the original built-in template stays untouched. You can always duplicate it again if you want a fresh start.
