Cannot Connect to Printer

Troubleshooting Steps
1. Same Network?
The #1 cause of printer connection issues. Your iPad and computer (running ALIVE Magic Print) must be on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Check the Wi-Fi network name on both devices
- Make sure they match exactly (watch for 2.4GHz vs 5GHz variants)
2. ALIVE Magic Print Running?
Is ALIVE Magic Print actually open and running on your computer?
- Check your computer — is the app open?
- Is your computer awake (not sleeping)?
- Does the app show "Running" status?
3. Local Network Permission?
iOS requires explicit permission for ALIVE to discover devices on the network.
- iPad Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network → ALIVE must be ON
4. Firewall?
Your computer's firewall might be blocking connections.
- Add ALIVE Magic Print to your firewall exceptions
- Or temporarily disable the firewall for testing
5. Network Isolation?
Hotel and corporate Wi-Fi often isolates devices from each other.
- Solution: Bring your own portable router
Alternative Connection Methods
If auto-discovery fails, try:
- QR Code — Scan the QR code shown in ALIVE Magic Print
- Manual URL — Enter the print server URL directly
Still Not Working?
- Restart ALIVE on the iPad
- Restart ALIVE Magic Print on your computer
- Restart your router
- Try a different network
- Contact support at support@alive-pic.com with your Device ID
