Applying an AI Effect to Photos

This is where the magic happens. Here's how guests apply AI effects to their photos — and what you can control behind the scenes.

The Guest Experience

  1. Guest sees the available effects on the attraction screen and picks one first
  2. Guest takes their photos
  3. The AI processes the photo with the selected effect (takes a few seconds)
  4. The transformed result appears
  5. Guest can share or print the result

It's designed to be intuitive — guests choose the style first, so they know what they're getting before they pose.

What Gets Transformed?

The AI effect is applied to the guest's captured photos. Depending on your settings, it can be applied to:

  • One photo — Just the first or selected photo
  • Multiple photos — All photos in the session

This is controlled by the Max AI Photos Count setting (see below).

Behind the Scenes

When the AI processes a photo:

  1. The photo is uploaded to ALIVE's AI processing service
  2. The AI model applies the style transformation
  3. The result is returned as a high-quality image matching the original resolution
  4. Credits are deducted from your account

If the AI processing fails (network issues, server overload), the original photo is kept as a fallback. Guests won't be stuck with a blank screen.

Settings That Affect AI Effects

These settings are found in Settings:

  • Max AI Tries (Coming Soon) — Will let you control how many times a guest can retry applying effects per session. Currently fixed at 1
  • Max AI Photos Count — How many photos the effect is applied to (default: 1)
  • Auto-Apply AI — Controls whether the effect is applied automatically after the photo is taken, or if the guest needs to manually press a button to generate it. When set to manual, retrying is easier since the guest can simply press the button again

See the next articles for details on each setting.
