# My Effects & Custom Effect Creation

The dashboard lets you view all your custom AI effects and create brand-new ones — giving you full creative control over what your booth can do.

---

## Viewing Your Effects

1. Go to **Dashboard** → **My Effects**
2. Browse your custom effects (12 per page)
3. See each effect's status: **Succeeded**, **Pending**, or **Failed**
4. **Click any effect to preview it** — a preview modal shows the effect's image or video, name, and description so you can see exactly what it looks like before assigning it to an event

This is where all your custom-created effects live — separate from the built-in ALIVE effects library.

---

## Previewing Effects

You can preview any effect — both custom and built-in — before using it at an event:

1. Click on an effect card in your effects list or the effects library
2. A **preview modal** opens showing:
   * The effect's **image or video preview** (videos autoplay in a loop)
   * The effect **name** and **description**
3. Close the preview and continue browsing

This works in both the **My Effects** page and when selecting effects in your **event's Remote Setup** tab. No more guessing what an effect looks like — preview it first, then assign it.

---

## Creating a Custom Effect

Want an effect that doesn't exist in the library? Create your own.

1. Click **Create New Effect**
2. Choose your settings:
   * **Background image** — Select from your gallery or upload one
   * **Effect style** — Define the AI transformation you want
3. The AI generates your custom effect
4. Track the status in real time — it'll show as **Pending** while processing
5. Once it's done, it's ready to use at your events

Custom effects use the same credit system as regular effects.

---

## Editing an Existing Effect

You can also edit custom effects you've already created:

1. Go to **Dashboard** → **My Effects**
2. Click on the effect you want to modify
3. Update the background image, style, or other settings
4. Save your changes — the AI will re-generate the effect with your updates

| Editing an effect creates a new version. If the effect is already assigned to an event, the updated version will be used automatically.

---

## AI Video Generation

You can also create **AI videos** from photos — turning a still image into a short animated video clip.

* **How it works** — Upload a photo, and the AI generates a cinematic video based on it
* **Credit cost** — AI videos use **40 credits** per video (~$0.40)
* **Status tracking** — Watch the generation progress in real time
* **Thumbnails** — Auto-generated thumbnails for easy browsing

AI videos are a premium feature that adds a whole new dimension to the booth experience.

---

## Pro Plan Required

Custom effect creation is a **Pro plan** feature. If you're on Basic, you'll see an upgrade prompt when trying to create custom effects.

The built-in effects library (200+ effects) is available on both Basic and Pro plans.

---

## Tips

* **Experiment** — Try different styles and backgrounds to see what your AI can do
* **Create event-specific effects** — A custom effect themed to a client's brand or event makes a huge impression
* **Check the status** — Effects take a few moments to generate. Don't worry if it says "Pending" — just give it a minute

| Custom effects are your secret weapon for standing out. When a client sees an effect made just for their event, that's the moment they become a repeat customer.
