# Enabling / Disabling Printing

Printing is a global setting in ALIVE — it applies to your booth overall, not to individual events. You can toggle it on or off before each event as needed. Turn it on when you have a printer connected, off when you don't.

---

## How to Toggle

1. Go to **Settings**
2. Find the **Printing** section
3. Toggle **Printing Enabled** on or off
4. Save

---

## What Happens When Printing Is Enabled?

* The **Print** button appears on the share screen
* Guests can tap it to print their photos
* Auto-print kicks in (if configured)
* ALIVE looks for connected print servers on the network

---

## What Happens When Printing Is Disabled?

* The Print button is hidden from the share screen
* No print jobs are sent
* Guests can still share via QR, SMS, email, or native share

---

## When to Disable Printing

* **No printer at the event** — Don't confuse guests with a button that doesn't do anything
* **Digital-only events** — When the client only wants digital sharing
* **Printer issues** — If your printer is acting up mid-event, disable printing rather than letting guests queue broken jobs

| Printing is a global setting, not a per-event saved preference. Each event doesn't have its own print toggle — you adjust the global setting before going live based on whether you have a printer at that event.
