# Choosing AI Effects for Your Event

AI effects are one of the biggest crowd-pleasers in ALIVE. You can curate which effects are available — so you can tailor the experience to match the event's theme or your client's preferences.

---

## How to Choose Effects

1. Go to the **Effects** tab
2. Browse the AI effects library
3. Select the effects you want available for your events
4. The selected effects will appear on the attraction / capture screen in the effects slider for guests to browse

## What Guests See

On the attraction/capture screen, guests will see the effects you've selected in an effects slider. Before taking their photo, they can:

* Browse through your curated selection
* Preview what the effect looks like
* Apply their favorite effect to their photos

Only the effects you've chosen will appear — guests won't see the full library.

---

## How Many Effects Should You Select?

There's no hard limit, but here are some guidelines:

* **3–8 effects** is the sweet spot for most events
* Too many options can overwhelm guests and slow down the line
* Too few might feel limiting

| For themed events, pick effects that match. A Halloween party? Load up on Zombie, Killer Clown, and Cyberpunk. A wedding? Go with Watercolor, Disney Pixar, and Pencil Drawing.

---

## Custom Effects

If the built-in library doesn't have exactly what you need, you can create **custom effects** with your own AI prompts. These show up alongside the built-in ones.

See [Creating a Custom AI Effect](/en/article/creating-a-custom-ai-effect-mu8k6i) for details.

## No Effects? No Problem

If you don't select any AI effects for an event, the attraction screen won't show the effects slider. Guests will go straight to sharing and printing. This is perfectly fine if your client just wants classic photo booth photos.
