# Camera Not Working

The booth is set up, guests are ready, and... no camera. Here's how to fix it fast.

---

## Quick Checklist

1. **Check camera permission** — iPad Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera → ALIVE must be ON
2. **Check if another app is using the camera** — Close all other apps that might be accessing the camera
3. **Try switching cameras** — Go to Camera Settings and switch between front and back
4. **Force close and reopen** — Close ALIVE completely and reopen it
5. **Restart the iPad** — The classic fix that works more often than you'd think

---

## Common Causes

### Permission Denied

The most common cause. If you denied camera access on first launch:

1. Go to iPad **Settings** → **Privacy & Security** → **Camera**
2. Find ALIVE Photobooth
3. Toggle it **ON**
4. Reopen ALIVE

### Camera in Use by Another App

Only one app can use the camera at a time. Close any other camera or video apps.

### Hardware Issue

Rarely, the camera itself might have a problem:

* Test the camera with the built-in Camera app
* If it doesn't work there either, it's a hardware issue with the iPad

---

## Prevention

* **Check camera permissions during setup** — Before every event
* **Close all other apps** — Clear the app switcher before going live
* **Test capture before guests arrive** — Take a test photo to verify

| Camera issues at a live event are stressful. Always — always — test the camera before the first guest walks up.
